It has become increasingly in my face that the United States is run by a plethora of hypocriticical ignoramouses who like Jerry Springer. And I don't mean just in Washington.
Sure, there are hypocritical ignoramouses in Washington, and that is where they are most concentrated, the large numbers of them are spread across the United States. Voter turnout has steadily decreased since the 1960s, going from 86% then to about 29% today. When asked about their political views and ideas, most just said "Get Lost." or "Don't bother me, wrestling's on tonight." Is it just me or are most americans having their brains steadily cut away until there is nothing left?
Back to Washington. Back in the "You're-a-Commie!" 50s, a law was passed that stated, simply "If you're from a communist country or have communist views, you're not allowed in the states." Excuse me? I believe that there's a little thing hinted at in the Constitution about Freedom of Speech? (Note: This law is still on record, just not much enforced anymore). And another thing: Congress just passed a tax on tea. Now I realize that to the average Springerian that this may not seem like a bad thing. It doesn't to me either, except that it adds one more law to the overburdened tax legislature. What it is, though, is ironic, considering that as an act of freedom, our founding fathers threw tea into the Boston Harbor to revolt against the British Tea Tax.
See the connection?
Remember all that rut about "defending the democratic way" that you heard about? Yes? They're laying. The US government isn't even a democracy. DEMOCRACY: People vote on the issues. REPUBLIC: People vote for a small number of people to vote on the issues. So really, the US government is really a confusing, overbearing, definitly-not-efficient Republic. One last thing, then you can start bashing me. Did you know it's illegal to sell anything from overseas here in the states without a multi-million dollar liscense? (sp?) It's true. It's been on the books 25+ years, just never enforced. That means if you bought a car in Italy and tried to sell it to your friend for $500, you couldn't by US law. That means no more Sega Dreamcast sales from a person or small business. That means no more (gasp!) DeLorean sales (matters to me). Get the picture?
Okay, I'm getting off my soapbox now.
